Irene Halliday RSW  'Late Snow. Dark Land'  gouache  12x11" unframed 21x20" mounted and framed  £500  Late Snow. Dark Land developed from unexpectedly seeing pockets of roadside snow while driving through Fife into a dark evening. It was romantic imagery which I associated and contrasted with a previous journey when deep snow had drifted across a winter evening in Fife landscape.  Having worked for many years in oil paint, I now greatly enjoy working in gouache and use this in both small and large paintings.  As in this painting I relate together the moods of visual subject matter with pictorial design.
